life’s possession

I love Christmas – the gatherings, giving gifts, sound of its music, gigantic/small colorful displays which is all over the places.

What I don’t love during this season are heavy traffics, crowded malls/bazaars and worst – growing credit card debts.  The culprit?  People are going gaga, shopping so much.

I know people are waiting for this hard earned money as they got their bonuses. They just realize that this is the only time that they can buy their most awaited dreams like material possessions.

But is there other alternatives beside those spending a lot during this yuletide season?

I guess so, simple yet worth to do perhaps:

  • Volunteer your family or colleagues to donate some of your funds, toys and other stuffs you do not need to a homeless community.  Sounds preachy?  There are still hungry people out there that need our help and since this is the season of giving, why make time to experience this with them.
  • Customize your gifts like baking or making your own Christmas card.  Memorable yet these simple gifts are worth doing because this is personally coming straight to your heart.
  • Rather than giving gifts to your family, why not do something fun together like decorating your home, dine-out, going out of town. Let them realize that materials of owning doesn’t last long.  Sometimes, because of so much gifts they receive, it cluttered to their rooms and eventually, they just don’t need it.
  • Save the money as we do not anticipate emergencies in the future
  • Invest your extra money in stock market

We love gifts but the true essence of Christmas relies not on these material possession that commands as to spend more.

Create great memories over material things.

Christmas is a season of hope, inspiration, love and contemplation.  It is more than buying, shopping or spending.  Let love and unity build within us.

Hopefully, let that spirit begin with us as we we build more relationships.

I must say that you guys are the greatest motivation a blogger can ever have.
Being able to share one’s real experience can be taken either way. Some may appreciate it, like most of you did. Or it may sound absurd to some. But what is important is we speak our minds.
It’s a great relief to be appreciated but it is more rewarding to just be yourself.

    Happy New Year to all!
